  • The battery is full of toxic chemicals and also inflammable and should be taken out carefully and disposed of properly at an official centre
  • Disposal of devices that contain toxic chemicals in a landfill may render the land unusable in future
  • Old PVC electronic gadget casings when burned produce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen chloride and water. These gases are harmful to humans. Some digital devices contain flame retardants which cause neurological damage and cancer. Others are made of heavy metals like lead, mercury and cadmium which cause nervous system disorder and even cancer
